In honor of Ring of Honor’s 200th episode last week, which ended with a fun 8-person intergender tag bout, Wrestledelphia’s #WomenCrushWednesday is One Dirty Briscoe: ODB.
The southern powerhouse blends the muscular build of Beth Phoenix with the wild nature of Sherri Martel, essentially doing the impossible by creating an original character in professional wrestling. ODB cusses, grunts, spits, and in between Bronco Busters, chugs her flask. She’s fun to watch and more fun to root for…
Which is why TNA initially believing she’d be a villain is mind-boggling. Regardless, ODB helped lay the foundation of the Knockouts division, winning the championship four times and also capturing the Knockouts Tag Team title with storyline hubby Eric Young.
Now that she’s jumped from TNA to ROH, her allegiance with the Briscoes and battles with the Kingdom and House of Truth will hopefully usher in ROH’s first era of women’s wrestling.
