When legendary commentator Jim Ross was cut by WWE, it left a very bitter taste in the wrestling world’s mouth. But ‘Good Ol’ JR has gone on to bigger and better things, most notably his podcast, The Ross Report—among the most listened to podcasts on PodcastOne.com.
But today, it was announced that the WWE Hall of Famer would call the action once again, but not for his old company. Ross’ new venture takes him to the far east, to a commentary table at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s ‘Wrestle Kingdom 9’ at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan.
Under the Global Force Wrestling banner, this year’s show will be broadcasted in the United States and Canada live on pay-per-view for the first time ever on January 4, 2015, and it’s the first show Ross will call since being released by the WWE in 2013.
On Twitter, Ross had this to say about the signing:
Thanks to all for their well wishes on my signing on to do play by play Wrestle Kingdom 9 Jan. 4 in Tokyo Dome on PPV.
