On this day in wrestling history, I became a diehard fan for life.
It was 14 years ago, but I still vividly remember when Chris Jericho and Kane were facing Lance Storm and Mike Awesome on a seemingly blasé episode of RAW. Then Rob Van Dam and Tommy Dreamer, last seen on ECW TV months prior, hit the ring, attacking Kane and Jericho.
Thus began the notorious WCW/ECW invasion angle, a dream storyline that devolved into a mindless reality. Despite at which point you believe the angle was ruined, there is no denying for at least an hour on this night it was one of the hottest moments in wrasslin’ history.
