Thus began the stuff of legend as CM Punk dropped the pipebomb heard ‘round the world. He was sick of the corporation, sick of John Cena, and most importantly, sick of the fans who supported the status quo despite years of complaints. Punk announced his last match would be for the WWE Championship and he’d be leaving the company with its richest prize.
It was revolutionary. It was spellbinding. It was wrasslin’ eurphoria.
And it had been done six years earlier.
